Not usually. Most varicose veins of any real size are going to lead to some level of discomfort and/or venous stasis problems such as stasis dermatitis and swelling. Even spider veins can be inflammatory and cause burning and itching as well as spontaneous bleeding. Scattered small spider veins without symptoms are generally regarded as cosmetic.
